REG Free Family Film Festival Beginning June 2009!
When school’s out, kids around the country visit selected Regal theatres for the Free Family Film Festival. It’s a fun-filled nine weeks of movies for kids and parents. Since 1991, Regal has provided this service to the community, and best of all it’s FREE!
Grab a friend and their kids and give them all a special treat-for FREE!!
Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

Saving Big at Giant!

We had a great shopping spree at Giant. We came prepared with coupons in hand(actually binder) and I had read Bargains by the Bagful before shopping and read about Becky's great deals.
Our grand total:
Total Price: $94.68 Paid: $31.25 Savings of $63.43
I also earned 30 gas points which saved me $7.50 at the tank!!
Yes, we'll be eating lots of pierogies, but why not with the great deals!
My kids are such troopers. Monday morning is Mom's morning out with one child per week. We used to get a FREE mocha at McDonald's before they stopped the deal. Now we go to Giant and they choose a drink, special breakfast treat and I bring bagels home for the family. However, lately they also get to coupon shop with mom and watch the savings when we check out. This is a great way to teach my children to be frugal adults someday.

Coupons for our Military Families!
My coupons have been piling up . That's a good thing. these little squares of paper are like money in my pocket. However, coupons do expires and become obsolete, sometimes in a matter of a few weeks. In the past, I simply cleaned out and threw the expired ones away. I've since learned about a really cool "giving recycling" opportunity for out of date coupons.
You can gather up your old coupons and send them to a military base where families can use them in the local commissary. There, the coupons are good up to 2 months after expiration.
My family adopted a military base in Japan and just sent our first batch of coupons out a few days ago.
I keep an envelope marked "expired coupons" on it. As I go through my coupons before shopping, I pull out the old ones and store them in the envelope. After a few weeks of this, the enveope is filled up and we can send it out.
Start saving your old coupons for the Troops.

So, I bought 8 boxes in 4 separate transactions and even without coupons, I ended up getting 8 boxes for $7 PLUS I used my final $3 off coupon for graham crackers, marshmallows and a chocolate bar for only 6 cents! (Yes, we were making smores.)
So, grab this great deal. It lasts until 5/30. This week they are $2.19 a box which is still a great price.
Did you know that you can buy coupons on EBAY? I ordered coupons on Ebay last night and bought 10 $1 off coupons Mrs. T's Pierogies for $1.50. It's like getting $8.50 in the mail to go shopping and then get $3 added to that.

I just wanted to share about what I got in the mail. I took a survey a week or so ago that popped up in my survey email. It said at the end that I would receive $4 for completing it. It only took me 5 minutes. I had forgotten all about it until the mail came and I opened the letter to see 4 $1 bills!! How funny. I'll be talking more in upcoming posts about ways to not only save money, but how I have made money through surveys, online offers, and rebates. Stay tuned!

$33.84 worth for $7.19 PLUS $8 ECB for next week's shopping adventure!
TIP: Always look for clearance items that give ECBs. I found the Adidas Deodorant on clearance for $1.25. I bought 2 which gave me a total of $6 ECBs! A profit of $4.75.

KMART
$79.22 Worth for $21.60 PLUS earned $10 KMART gift card from Procter & Gamble Rebate.(already in the envelope and ready to mail tomorrow!)
My daughter and I picked up lots of goodies on this trip. We worked hard to get as many FREEBIES as possible. We also had to spend $35 in P&G to get the rebate. This is the best week to do it with the double coupons. You can find the rebate forms throughout the store where the P&G items are sold. The form had a list of all the items you could choose.
We chose 2 Crest toothpastes, 2 Oral-B toothbrushes, 2 Oral-B dental floss and 2 Secret deodorants. These all had $1 off coupons which doubled up to $2. We only paid $3.67 for all the items. Choosing the last P&G was a little difficult but we finally purchased a Swiffer highly recommended by Dee at ChoosingToday. She swears by it for her 2 dogs. Good thing I had a $5 coupon! Don't forget about the rebate. (See last post) Get a form a KMART, fill it out, address and stamp it and put it in your purse. BTW, all items have to be purchased in one visit and on one receipt.
TIP: Shop for FREE things or nearly free. My experience with KMART is that you can find things alot cheaper other places. I only get the super deals and save my coupons for other places.

HINT: Always bring your coupons into the store. I had been saving the Oikos Yogurt coupons for a while. I had never seen them in the store. Lo and behold, today, Giant had them on sale for $1 each and I had 5 $1 coupons!!! Cool. The other coupon was for a bogo yogurt which was 2/$4. However, the bogo coupon took $2.50 off instead. You never know.

I probably looked at it 100 times before I decided to take the offer. I currently have the card and I saved $30 on my MP3. I also bought a refurbished one, so my final cost was $35. Organization makes life easier. I wanted to share some ideas and pictures with you of how I keep my coupons, store fliers, etc...
When I first started clipping coupons, I used the kind of coupon flie that you can find in most stores. These leave room for your basic categories:
grocery, frozen, cleaning etc... Not too much of a variety.
Well, one of the first tips I got when I became my money saving campaign, was to purchase 2 Sunday fliers and to download and print out all kinds of amazing coupons. Well, my little coupon holder couldn't bear up under the weight and I needed bigger and better.

I moved right into my "Million Dollar Coupon Binder". Actually, it's a binder I bought a few years ago for my kids and they don't use it. You can even pick these up VERY Cheap at yard sales. I keep it stocked with pens, scissor, note paper and a calculator.

I needed to break down the categories into very specific items. For instance: Drinks, deodorant, cereal, hair, body wash, icecream(lots of these coupons!!) etc...

I have an inside slot for all the current store fliers where I shop: CVS(Monthly and weekly), Giant, Weis, etc.. You never know when you'll need them. I also keep envelopes for each store in the outside pocket to keep store specific coupons, catalina slips and coupons for items I want to purchase on sale that week.

I also find that I have many duplicate coupons which is VERY helpful for buying many of the same items at rock bottom prices. When I have several of the same, I put them into a small pile and staple the end. Then, I can tear one off when needed or take a staple off and add more, too.

Finally, I can zip mine shut and throw it into the car whenever I go out. You never know when you'll need a coupon and you'll have it right at your finger tips. The binder also opens up nicely in the seat of your shopping cart so you can flip through if necessary. Unless you need the seat for your child. Mine are too big now!

Hopefully, these tips were helpful. It all comes down to whatever works best for you and that you save lots of money!

Planning ahead is always key. I brought along my "million dollar coupon binder", and had all the coupons already sorted out into little envelopes according to category(i.e. cleaning, dental, shampoo, laundry, snacks...). BTW, did you know that KMART is having double coupons up to $2 starting April 19th? That means that if you have any $1 or $2 coupons, they double up to $2 and $4!! Last month, I made a purchase for $146 at KMART and after taking off all the double coupons etc... I only paid $46!!!

Make sure to mark your calendar for the ending trial date. Call and cancel 3 days before Free Trial expires. I always call a few days after signing up to make sure of exact date for trial expiration. Always read the fine print! My husband and I went to redeem our TGIF coupon for joining their "Stripes" program. First off, the TGIF we went to, wasn't participating in the program. HOWEVER, they were excepting the coupons.

We got ice teas at the bar and then went to our table for our 1 cent appetizer. Next, we were to receive a $1 entree with the purchase of one. I made sure that I had brought the coupon AND the email along with it. I had shown this to the seating hostess and the bartender who was serving us.

After the meal, we gave him the coupons(one for the appetizer and one for the entree-they went together on the email). Our bill only reflected an appetizer discount but full charge for both entrees. We addressed this(NEVER be afraid to inquire!). We were told it was because we didn't take our drink and appetizer to a table on the main floor. This was a little crazy, because we were sitting at a table but near the bar.

We were courteous but insisted that we had followed the guidelines on the email. He checked with the manager and then said that we could have the discount this time but we shouldn't have been able to use both coupons at one time.

Not a great discount. We still spent $19 for lunch including tip. But, my husband and I DID have time to be alone and talk, so it was worth it! I do recommend, always read ALL the fine print and if unsure, call ahead and ask.

I was out with my kids around lunch time and we were starved. Of course, I carry my Entertainment book with me at all times. I throw the book into the car along with my coupons as I head out of the house.

The five of us stopped for a quick bite and I pulled out 2 BOGO offers for the fast food drive through. ( I can't eat the stuff!). After getting my receipt, I looked on the back and noticed a call in survey with the promise of a free sandwich just for participating. I called the number and in less than 5 minutes, I had the code for a free sandwich on Burger King's dime.

I once received a $10 gift card from Footlocker for calling the number on the back of my receipt and complimenting the employee who helped me. He deserved the praise!

My First $50!!

One month ago, my sister told me about "cool" websites that offer great deals to make extra money and also coupons to save. I have always been a bargain shopper, yardsaler, deal maker from childhood(my mother trained me well).

However, my eyes were opened to a vast "subculture" of women working together to share tips and methods on saving and making a buck.

Now to my first $50. My daughter and I were taking a trip to Florida and I needed to check our flight schedule. Low and behold, I saw a cash back offer for signing up for a Free Trial.
Never before would I have tried this "Scam"or so I thought. But I now, armed with information and other women's experiences, decided to venture out and "Get that Money!"

Now I have the proof in the pudding, a $50 cash back check. Not only that, but I called to cancel my free trial and the man insisted I receive 4 $10 rebates to stay until my actual cancellation date in April.

An overview of the day:
Signed up for some mystery shoppers-I actually had an email to come and shop at a local grocery store!! RATS! I am out of town that day... Hopefully, they'll ask again.

Went to the Sharp Shopper..an amazing grocery store..cart over flowing for under $75.

I recieved the ticket to fill out and send in to Priceline to receive my rebate from the airline tickets..Can't believe I almost let that pass by. $50!!! I'll let you know if it goes through.

Well, I got up early to spend time on the computer before everyone got up. I am trying to follow all the suggestions on how to spend wisely and make free money. I applied for a bank savings account that offered a $30 bonus. I signed up for some mystery shopping opportunities(still trying to understand that ), I also bought an 2009 Entertainment Book(actually, it was basically free including rebates etc..) plus, I signed up for lots of freebies. I can't wait until they start coming in. My daughter is going to love it. She already helps me with cutting coupons.

I also, teach my kids, went to the farmer's market plus tried to use some coupons at CVS. Taught some more, took my one hour walk and pray...went to a co-op planning meeting..now trying to learn a little more and find some more ways to earn/save money.

As soon as I figure this blog thing out, I will improve its appearance. As for now, we are pretty drab and basic..

I also want to blog about other areas I love...scrapbooking, hosting International students, more walking, listening to the Bible on my MP3 player...but that all will have to wait. Time for bed.
